I think this trailer won this award through the many features and effects it contains below I will be discussing why I feel this trailer deserved to win.
Firstly I think this trailer expresses a lot about the film within a very short space of time which is the length of the trailer which is 2 minutes and 23 seconds. I feel the use of multiple shots within the trailer are good as they are reflective to the genre to the audience. In addition to this the voice over used within this trailer is used effectively as the voice over relates to each shot shown within the trailer, revealing little bits about the film to the audience. Also narrative enigmas are used within this trailer making the audiences question the trailer which is creating suspense throughout the trailer which again relates to the genre which is horror.
I think the effects used within the trailer are good as whilst using a voice over during the trailer non digectic sound is included within shots creating a suspense which is intended to scare audience watching the trailer. Close up shots are used within this trailer but not to show the stars of the movie but to show the expression and horror on characters face within the trailer which is a good effective with the non digetic sound as it gives audiences impressions where they are left unsure and scared which is the purpose of the trailer and also to promote the movie. Lastly lots of jump cuts are used within the trailer to purpose to the audiences that the trailer is quick and snappy, which is creating suspense within the trailer and putting audiences on edge. Lastly still frames and flashing effects are used which are keeping the audiences watching the trailer interested and relates to the genre as most horror films keep audiences on edge which exactly what this trailer is doing.
